Age of Distraction

Life's  busy, accompanying distractions
Modern technology and its addictive attractions

Preoccupation there, concentration lacking
Your precious time is this self indulgence hacking

 Gratifications costing work efficiency
Other times its family sensing your deficiency

Purpose of life lost, in astray
Digital dieting is Call for the Day

Cue is prioritizing needs and wants
Productive engagement necessary to ascent this Mont

Balancing the family, work n modern life
Existence much wholesome, wellness thrives.

Whether its ideas, appearance or speech
mere book reading, or creative art-stuff
By imitation, display their weakness to u
secretly adore u, are epigone bluff.

So dear Copy Cat!
You actually making me Glad,
Empower me, making me the ONE
Very few are the Acheytypes
Rest are  Brainless Apes, hun!

Your stimulated acts, are unsaid compliments
as Imitation is the sincerest form of Flattery
Try something original, its good
or I assume u 've Outsourced your Battery.

In a fix ?

Contemplation in process,
Reckoning still to define
Belief swirled the way
high tide in the sea of mind.

So what! ideas will come and go
Some may hit, others not so
Stand up! have courage to differ?
lest, orthodoxy asks to bow.

Blest are the ones
Who imagine and think
Translate thoughts into words
Solve koans, brings life in sync

True! the course's never simple
Has more blunders, less shines
Than what worth is a life
Afraid of slopes, fear declines.

Some shine like lighthouses
Serving humanity as selfless guide.
Save those lost in dangers n storms
World with such, isn't well supplied.

Gallant yet Modest
Stand alone in shines n greys.
Guarded are the blessed ones
At odds, bromides who always bray.

Value such gems, who lights you
Through safe waters and horrid shoals.
Positioned high with beacon-light

Unwaveringly,  play their roles.

Honour your grieves, respect your sorrows
They give you strength for a resilient tomorrow.

True! Every life has some measure of remorse
Become bitter or better, it’s a choice to endorse.

No one can ever, understand your pain.
But the lesson once learnt, never go in-vain

Happy ever afters are always the same
Sad story will be the masterpiece, of your life’s frame.

Experience shows, nothing lasts forever
Deal with this enigma
And make your best endeavour.

There are good, then real bad days
Circle us around,
To check our weight.

It hasn't left, big Empires out
Take a hint and look around
There were rise, fall and drought.

Be always watchful, telling you straight forward
All change isn't growth

 All movement isn't forward.

Putting pen to paper only for that soul
Who shapes society and community as a whole

Are living as sisters, mothers or wives
Some work for living, others sustain lives.

In grind, forgrants her importance of being
Virtue is talent of worth foreseeing.

Working or not, you are a special whole
Self improvement is a process, not a goal.

Boost up esteem with self education
Take any skill or habit, let’s say plantation.

Begin what you like, will help you freshen
Sitting idle is the heaviest of self-oppression.

Overcome fears to reclaim yourself
Being a masterpiece is discovering oneself.

Information to Wisdom

Gathering Information
Extending to madness,
Stacking is there
No coherence is pure sadness.

Rationality is certain,
When understanding’s in accord.
Knowledge will be the product
Intelligence there, yet to explore.

Wisdom is still
Another Battlefield
Victors of prior
 Have the Power to Unseal

Some Wise Words by Victor Hugo

* Change your opinions, keep to your principles; change your leaves, keep intact your roots.

*  Blessed be Providence which has given to each his toy: the doll to the child, the child to the woman, the woman to the man, the man to the devil!.

Change your opinions, keep to your principles; change your leaves, keep intact your roots.

Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?.

Idleness is the heaviest of all oppressions.

Many great actions are committed in small struggles.

Nations, like stars, are entitled to eclipse. All is well, provided the light returns and the eclipse does not become endless night. Dawn and resurrection are synonymous. The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul.

Our life dreams the Utopia. Our death achieves the Ideal.

Usurp monotony to respell life
Its offering a lot, enjoy till last slice.

Delight the ones around you a lot
Instead of taking heat, play pole on spot.

Crack up jokes to lighten the mood
Settle the hash when air’s rude.

what goes around, comes around
With all goodness, life will be crowned.

Old Friend!!

(Artwork Credits: Pascal Campion)

Eager to know your old pal’s mundane
Dear! ‘m good, right as rain.

Forbearance taught me well through years
Found sustained joys in temporal pain.

Were partner in crime, can recall
or tingling charms, tagged in chain.

Found many secrets & distorted truths
 Friendship is sacred, not profane.

Time unfolded many fables and lies
Wise are bitten once, seldom  again.

Better to cut your own peaches now
Nice meeting u, but can’t entertain.

Striking Originality (by Samima)

In the world of sham persona, strike originality
Archetype holds respect, not modelled duality.

Paying respect to whom you adore is good
Monkeys see monkey do is mental lethality.

 Individual differences brand us stimulating
Ignoring them for compliance is pure irrationality.

You are harmonious in your given melody

End toeing the line, time to score individuality.

Hamza (by Samima)

You came to us as a blessing
I overwhelmed, showered my love in kissing.

You were so delicate and small when born.
And I always keen for how to adorn.

I remember the day you gave the first smile.
And babbled baba first, but I never mind

You were sharp in noticing habits.
Throwing rappers in a bin, soon as you grab it.

You did your early milestones in time.
All of a sudden there was a decline.

We were so worried for you not talking
Were trying hard, but something was balking.

Me always gloomy and your father blue
We left no stone unturned, for finding clue.

Then our prayers were finally granted.
Came to this world, recovery seed finally planted.

You were green and naïve in the beginning.
Something charming happened, when trust was thinning.

You started with some small sentences.
Your father and I both asked for repentance.

The progress is still on its way.
We are all fighting for you each n every day.

I know you'll win this battle soon.

And we'll find true happiness after a blue moon.

Snyya- my little lark (by Samima)

O’ Snyya! My darling, noisy little lark
Cheerful and chatty, you want an early morning start,
I say: ‘Go to sleep hun, it’s still very dark’.

You came to us, as a memorable gift.
Hamza sensed your absence, while playing in the park.
How easily you filled that big question mark.

Can still remember, the day you were born
So fair and beautiful, mirroring an angel
Your father was proud and I sublime,
You surely raised our beauty benchmark.

We feel so blessed to have you dear
Your brother, yet another
Whose love is a hallmark.

I pray for you, and your golden future.
My Rain after dry weather and Sunshine after night's stark

You'll shine like a Star, not just a spark.

Empty Handed, Full-hearted (by Leo Babauta)

We often load ourselves up when we travel, because we want to be prepared for various situations. This burden of being prepared leaves us with our arms full, unable to receive whatever is there when we arrive.
It leaves us tired from carrying, so that we are not happy when we meet someone new on our travels.
What if we traveled with empty hands, ready to embrace new experiences, receive new foods, touch new people?
We might feel less prepared when we leave, but the preparedness is an illusion. Stuff doesn’t make us prepared. Having empty hands but a heart that is full of love leaves us prepared for anything.
This doesn’t just apply to taking a trip, but to living each day. Each day is a journey, and we load ourselves up with material possessions, with tasks and projects, with things to read and write, with meetings and calls and texts. Our hands are full, not ready for anything new.
Drop everything, be open to everything.
Enter each day empty-handed, and full-hearted.

FYI You are the Apple of my Eye (by Samima)

(My Dear Husband)

You are the apple of my eye.
Brightest one of all
stars that shine over my sky.

A friend to shares with all my secrets
My ups, my downs
My lows, my highs.

It's been only 7 mere years
by looking you can guess
All my truths and some lies

Your perfect suiting
That bright blue shirt <3
And how can I forget that stripy tie.

Breakfast, lunch or let it be dinner
present or not, you are still there
Or at evenings, while making chai

I'm surely in love with you
more then each passing sky.
God how to thank you, can only try

By counting my blessings,
and thinking silence is best n golden
Got so much, how can I deny.

Saving face- Pakistan

just watched "Saving Face", distressing and bitter beginning yet a heartwarming end. People like Dr. Jawad, proving to be a ray of hope, yes.... humanity is still alive.  To dear acid throwers  and countrymen calling  this documentary a disgrace for Pakistan .... to hell with you all.

The Rhythm of Time ~ Bobby Sands

There's an inner thing in every man,
Do you know this thing my friend?
It has withstood the blows of a million years,
And will do so to the end.

It was born when time did not exist,
And it grew up out of life,
It cut down evil's strangling vines,
Like a slashing searing knife.

It lit fires when fires were not,
And burnt the mind of man,
Tempering leandened hearts to steel,
From the time that time began.

It wept by the waters of Babylon,
And when all men were a loss,
It screeched in writhing agony,
And it hung bleeding from the Cross.

It died in Rome by lion and sword,
And in defiant cruel array,
When the deathly word was 'Spartacus'
Along with Appian Way.

It marched with Wat the Tyler's poor,
And frightened lord and king,
And it was emblazoned in their deathly stare,
As e'er a living thing.

It smiled in holy innocence,
Before conquistadors of old,
So meek and tame and unaware,
Of the deathly power of gold.

It burst forth through pitiful Paris streets,
And stormed the old Bastille,
And marched upon the serpent's head,
And crushed it 'neath its heel.

It died in blood on Buffalo Plains,
And starved by moons of rain,
Its heart was buried in Wounded Knee,
But it will come to rise again.

It screamed aloud by Kerry lakes,
As it was knelt upon the ground,
And it died in great defiance,
As they coldly shot it down.

It is found in every light of hope,
It knows no bounds nor space
It has risen in red and black and white,
It is there in every race.

It lies in the hearts of heroes dead,
It screams in tyrants' eyes,
It has reached the peak of mountains high,
It comes searing 'cross the skies.

It lights the dark of this prison cell,
It thunders forth its might,
It is 'the undauntable thought', my friend,
That thought that says 'I'm right! '

Lessons for life

Morning lesson: climbing up and down the stairs. Zaid enjoyed it a lot. When climbing up he let my hand go off and climbed up quickly. When he reached up he clapped his hands and laughed with happiness. Little soul felt he achieved something really big, Alhamdulillah!

But when he climbed down he wanted me to hold tight and was little shaky. It was a great thing to help him.

Are we not like the little boy? When we achieve success in life we forget everything else around us. We overwhelm with joy and are proud of our achievements. But when there’s a downfall then we seek help from everyone. Wish our beloved ones are still holding our hands to help us to attain the success we expect. If they are not around we blame them as the reason for our downfall. How pathetic?

Let never go off your beloved ones in happiness and sorrow, in success and failure.

Some wise words by George Orwell.

"War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength."

"In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

"Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.

"The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history."

"Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it."

"Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them."

"The best books... are those that tell you what you know already."

"Big Brother is Watching You."

"But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought."

"Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me."

"All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting."
